Hiring someone to build your online course can cost anywhere from a couple thousand dollars to well over $25,000. The biggest thing that moves the number is whether you’re paying for production help or for someone to design the learning experience itself.
At Dreampro, our services start at $8,500. Below is how that compares to the other options, what changes the price, and how to tell if a quote you’re holding is fair.
Here’s what the market looks like right now, from doing it all yourself to handing it to a full team.
| Option | Typical cost | What you’re paying for |
|---|---|---|
| Doing it yourself | $500 to $5,000 | Tools, a platform, and a lot of your time |
| Some hired help, mostly you | $3,000 to $15,000 | A few specialists filling the gaps |
| Freelancers hired piece by piece | $30 to $125 an hour per specialist | An instructional designer, editor, and designer you hire and manage yourself |
| Full-service team | $8,500 to $25,000+ | Strategy, curriculum, design, and setup handled by one team |
The DIY and mid-range numbers come from Ruzuku’s 2026 cost breakdown. The freelance rate comes from Momentive’s guide to instructional design costs.
One thing the cheap end of that table hides: Ruzuku estimates that 60 to 70% of the cost of a DIY course is your own time. If your time bills at a few hundred dollars an hour, “cheap” gets expensive fast.
It depends on who you hire, so always ask for the list. When we do a Full Build, it includes:
Your job is to show up with what you know and record. Tara put it best after her build: she said she just showed up and recorded, and everything else was handled.
Two agencies can quote the same course $5,000 apart. Usually it comes down to these:
Our services start at $8,500. There are two ways to build with us:
Every project gets one package price, quoted after a call, because scope is what drives it. We’ve built 250+ courses for coaches, consultants, Fortune 50 companies, and everyone in between, and we work on every platform.
Here’s the number I’d look at before the price. Most courses see 5 to 15% completion. Katie, a client we’ve worked with on several builds, averages 64%.
That gap matters for money, not just pride. Students who finish get results, students with results leave testimonials, and testimonials sell your next round. A course nobody finishes is a lot harder to sell.
That said, if $8,500 isn’t in the budget right now, don’t force it. Dreampro Course Camp teaches the same method we use with clients for $497, so you can build it yourself like an instructional designer without becoming one.
Ask any team you’re considering these five questions:
A good team will answer all five without blinking.
A Co-Build with Dreampro takes about 12 weeks. A Full Build is more involved, and we aim to deliver in 4 to 6 months.
Yes. It’s your expertise, so it’s your face and voice. We build the outline and slides so recording is the easy part, and on a Full Build we edit the video too.
All of them. We build on Kajabi, Thinkific, LearnWorlds, Skool, GoHighLevel, ThriveCart Learn, and others.
Start with Dreampro Course Camp ($497) or our free Extraction Formula, which walks you through pulling your method out of your head before you build anything.
If you’ve been sitting on a course idea and you want it done right, tell us about your project and we’ll walk you through what it would take.
